The Hansakai in Stralsund is located on the Northern Harbour Island, a former industrial area that is now one of the most exciting open spaces on the Baltic coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Imposing warehouse buildings, historic large stone paving and old railroad tracks tell of the harbor's rough past - right next to the modern architecture of the Ozeaneum, an unusual urban ensemble is being created that attracts visitors from Stralsund and the entire Baltic Sea region.

The heart of the Hansakai is a 200-meter-long flight of steps along the quayside. From here, there is a wide view across the Strelasund to the island of Rügen. The car-free area invites you to stroll and linger - if you take a closer look, you will discover an interactive play of light in the floor that symbolizes a school of herring and picks up on visitor movements as well as data on the current fish population.

This public toilet is located on the left-hand side in the Rathauskeller at the Alter Markt. It is not wheelchair accessible as it can only be reached via a staircase. This public toilet is operated by staff present. If you are on the Alter Markt, you will find the toilet on the left-hand side of the town hall. To reach it, go down a flight of stairs. You will find a disabled-accessible entrance in the foyer of the town hall Monday to Friday (not on public holidays). Access is via the north-east passageway - entrance in front of the bust of Gustav Adolf. Saturdays in Quartier 17 - with EURO key Sundays at the Neuer Markt
