Marlow Waterway Rest Stop near Semlow – Starting Point for the Lower Recknitz Valley

The Marlow Waterway Rest Stop in Semlow is located about one kilometer outside the town of Marlow, right next to the Recknitz Bridge on the L18 between Marlow and Semlow. It is an ideal starting point for tours by water, bicycle, or on foot through the diverse natural landscape of the Lower Recknitz Valley—a tranquil river landscape in the heart of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, not far from the famous Baltic Sea coast between Fischland-Darß-Zingst and Stralsund.

Canoe and boat rentals, as well as services, are available at the rest area

The rest area is operated by Marlower Kanu- & Bootsverleih. You can choose from Canadian canoes, kayaks, rowboats—with electric motors upon request—pedal boats, stand-up paddleboards, and bicycles. Those who prefer a guided experience of the Recknitz can join raft or canoe tours. In addition, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern recreational fishing license and guest fishing permits are sold on site. A snack bar located directly on the grounds provides refreshments.

A special feature of the rest area is its accessibility: a wheelchair-accessible restroom and a wheelchair-accessible ramp to the boat launch make the site easily accessible for people with limited mobility.
