The local history museum displays pictures of the glassworks, which operated from 1665 to 1929, as well as a model of the glass factory. Visitors can also admire glassworks. Information is provided on the town’s origins and traditions. The local history museum can be visited by appointment made in advance by phone.

Glashütte Local History Museum in Rothenklempenow – The History of an Old Glassworks

Located in the Glashütte district of Rothenklempenow is the Glashütte Local History Museum, a small but remarkable museum in northern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The focus is on the history of a glassworks that was in operation from 1665 to 1929—an unusually long production tradition for the region. The museum preserves the memory of this local craft and brings it to life for visitors.

Exhibits and Exhibition: Glass, Models, and Local History

The exhibition features historical images of the glassworks as well as a detailed model of the former glass factory. The display is complemented by original glassworks preserved from the factory’s production.
