Regional market garden Himmel und Humus in Nieklitz
In the middle of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, not far from the Baltic Sea coast, Amelie and Sophie have launched a special project with the Himmel und Humus market garden in Nieklitz. The Market Garden combines community-supported agriculture (SoLaWi) with regenerative cultivation methods, short delivery routes and a strong sense of community. Starting on around 1,360 square meters, the cultivated area is growing steadily - with the clear aim of providing high-quality regional vegetables.
SoLaWi, cut flowers and café on the farm in NieklitzHimmel & Humus is more than just a market garden: SoLaWi members actively participate in the farm and experience agriculture up close. Visitors can pick their own flowers in the cut flower meadow, have a drink in the small café or buy fresh vegetables directly. The farm also serves as a learning and research space as well as a venue for events and discussions about sustainable agriculture.
Sustainable farming with husbandry in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Seasonality, climate friendliness and transparency characterize everyday life at Himmel & Humus, as does a conscious commitment to an inclusive working environment - with a particular focus on the visibility of women and marginalized groups in agriculture. Anyone traveling through the Baltic Sea region - whether on the way to Wismar, Rostock or towards Fischland-Darß-Zingst - will find an authentic insight into future-oriented, regional business here.
