The direct connection to the Peene, the inner city harbor with barrier-free access to Lake Kummerow or the connecting lakes is ideal for boat and canoe trips and water hikers. Bicycles and boats can be hired directly in the town. The Peene, one of the most species-rich rivers in Germany, is an Eldorado for anglers and the natural bathing spots with a sandy beach (in the village or slightly larger in Salem) are sure to please your children. We also recommend the trolley ride from Dargun to Salem, which also goes via Neukalen. There is a surfing and sailing school with a beautiful surfing area in Sommersdorf and horse riding is also available in the neighboring villages on Lake Kummerow.
