It is right next to the Neubukow church. Discover the life and work of Neubukow’s most famous son—Heinrich Schliemann—the discoverer of ancient Troy. He was born on January 6, 1822, in the Neubukow parsonage as the fifth child of Pastor Ernst Schliemann. Today, the memorial is located in the former rector’s house (built in 1790) at Am Brink 1. Here you can admire original artifacts such as jugs, bowls, and cups that the archaeologist, born in Neubukow in 1822, excavated in Troy. Display panels with photos and explanations document the life and work of Heinrich Schliemann. Our romantic museum garden invites you to linger. With a little luck, you might spot squirrels, green woodpeckers, and other wildlife here. A short nature trail showcases various archaeological finds from the region.
