At the historic Forsthof in Kaliß, visitors can not only discover a lot, but also experience a lot.

Concerts and exhibitions take place here, an erratic boulder garden shows stone witnesses of the Ice Age and if you want, you can watch a herd of wild boars. 54 erratic blocks, which came to the Griese region from Scandinavia during one of the ice ages, can be seen in the rock garden of the historic Forsthof Kaliß. On a tour, the interested visitor as well as the amateur geologist or nature lover can learn about the path the stones have taken, how they became part of our landscape and how man made use of them. The Forsthof ensemble also includes a meadow orchard with predominantly old varieties, a groundwater-fed draw well, a historic stone oven that is used for various occasions and a wild boar enclosure with a wild boar and a fallow deer. The old forest barn is now used as a multicultural "House of the Forest". Educational forest events, lectures, exhibitions and concerts take place here, and there is a forest and woodland museum on the upper floor.

The boulder garden at the Forsthof features 54 boulders that were once transported from Scandinavia to the Griese region during an ice age. On a tour, nature lovers and amateur geologists can learn about the journey these stone witnesses made, how they became part of the local landscape and how humans used them.

The Forsthof ensemble also includes a meadow orchard with mainly old fruit varieties, a groundwater-fed draw well and a historic stone oven, which is put into operation on various occasions. In the wild boar enclosure, you can observe a herd of wild boar with a wild boar and a fallow deer up close.
