Feldberg Fishing Center

Discover the most beautiful fishing shop in the region and turn your fishing vacation—from friendly, expert advice and insider tips to guided fishing tours—into a truly special experience.

The Feldberg Lake District delights fishing enthusiasts not only with its scenic beauty—featuring deep, clear lakes surrounded by wooded hills—but also with one of the most fascinating fishing shops in the lake district. The reason for this is its unique blend of museum and treasure trove of regional specialties. Whether it’s spoons, rubber lures, Makks, twisters, wobblers, fishing reels, fishing rods, or live bait—you’ll find everything an angler’s heart desires here. The shop—which also serves as a cozy gathering place for fishing enthusiasts to exchange ideas—has been run by Bernhard Petruschat since 1999. His palpable enthusiasm for the “most beautiful hobby in the world” and his expert knowledge alone make a visit here an experience. Particularly impressive is a gigantic pike measuring 143 centimeters and weighing 40 pounds, mounted on the wall. Bernhard Petruschat caught it over 20 years ago in Lake Carwitz. He’s always happy to recount the story of the catch, and he does so with such vividness that it feels as if it were yesterday. At the fishing center, you can not only purchase fishing permits for all 15 fishable lakes but also get comprehensive information about each body of water.   And if you’ve always wanted to fish for gamefish and non-gamefish from the comfort of a boat, with an experienced guide who knows the local waters like the back of his hand, Bernhard Petruschat can arrange the perfect guided fishing tour. It’s an experience that will be unforgettable, especially for your children.

Feldberg Fishing Center – A gathering place for fishing enthusiasts in the Feldberg Lake District

Nestled in the heart of the Feldberg Lake District—one of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania’s most charming natural landscapes—is the Feldberg Fishing Center, a special destination for anyone who loves fishing. Bernhard Petruschat has been running the shop since 1999, and it has long been much more than just an ordinary specialty store: it combines fishing gear, regional specialties, and an atmosphere reminiscent of a small museum.

A Giant Pike and Insider Tips on 15 Fishing Lakes

The number one attraction is a mounted pike measuring 143 centimeters and weighing 40 pounds, which Bernhard Petruschat caught in Lake Carwitz over 20 years ago—and whose story he still recounts with great vividness today. The selection includes everything an angler’s heart desires: spoons, wobblers, rubber lures, twisters, fishing rods, reels, and live bait. In addition, visitors can purchase fishing permits here for all 15 fishable lakes in the region, as well as detailed information about each body of water.

Guided fishing tours on the clear-water lakes of the lake district

Those who wish to experience the deep-water lakes of the Feldberg lake district—surrounded by wooded hills—from a boat can book guided fishing tours through the fishing center. An experienced guide, who knows the local waters inside and out, accompanies the trip in search of predatory and non-predatory fish—an experience that is especially unforgettable for children. Those who usually travel along the Baltic Sea coast between Rügen, Usedom, or the Fischland-Darß-Zingst region will find the Feldberg Lake District to be an equally worthwhile destination in the inland region of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Feldberger Seenlandschaft

On secluded paths and trails I will take you to the most beautiful places in our magnificent landscape, where you will discover old post roads, mysterious ruins, hidden lakes, crumbling bridges, old oak avenues and enjoy wonderful views. most walks take about two hours and are also suitable for children (from about 5 years), the elderly and the inexperienced. On my short hikes, we explore old post roads, abandoned ruins, hidden lakes, flowering meadows with old fruit trees, impressive oak avenues, crumbling wooden bridges.... Breaks at beautiful places are planned, certainly with swimming opportunities in summer. Most of the tours are between 5 and 8 km long and are easy to manage for anyone who enjoys exercise. You can find more detailed information about the individual hikes on my website www.naturnahwandern.de and in the event calendar of the tourist information office. There and on various notices you will find the current dates (usually 2 to 3 hikes per week) and meeting points. You are also welcome to book hikes with me for small and larger groups and organize them according to your wishes.
