Bahnhofstraße

18528 Bergen auf Rügen

The mighty "Bismarck Oak" stands in the heart of Bergen. There is a small square in the middle of Bahnhofstrasse, which takes in Calandstrasse. Old photos show that a memorial stone was placed here in honor of Chancellor Otto von Bismarck, surrounded by a forged ornamental fence with symbols such as oak leaves and ornamental balls. A young oak tree growing behind this stone is now the mighty "Bismarck Oak" that characterizes this square.

Old photographs show that a memorial stone in honor of Bismarck once stood at this location, surrounded by a forged decorative fence with symbols such as oak leaves and ornamental balls. The young oak tree planted behind this stone has survived the decades and is still a reminder of this historical tradition - a custom that was widespread throughout Germany in the 19th and early 20th centuries, including in other cities in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern such as Stralsund and Greifswald.

The city is centrally located on Rügen, Germany's largest island, and is an ideal starting point for excursions along the Baltic Sea coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern - for example to Putbus, Stralsund or the Baltic seaside resort of Binz.

Inka's art is known for this in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Tokyo, Miami and at www.Galerie-Inka.de. Inka's art is repeatedly praised by viewers for the positive, soothing aura that the individual works have. Vibrant colors, lightness and brilliance characterize Inka's paintings. The viewer is immediately drawn into a world of joie de vivre, flowing energy, power and dancing colors. This world of joy invites you to be touched, to be infected by its lightness, to linger in its brilliance. And this is exactly how one visitor described it at the vernissage on March 2 at the Bergen City Museum on Rügen, where the solo show "Inca: Retrospective of Half a Century" runs until May 28, 2024: "I went straight home after the vernissage and did nothing else there but sit quietly on a chair and enjoy these wonderful energies that I had soaked up from your pictures." The fact that Inka's artworks usually have an uplifting effect is partly due to the clear, strong colors. On the other hand, it is also due to the fact that Inka connects herself with positive, healing forces during the painting process and thus impregnates these energies into her works. For Inka, painting is an act of joy, sensuality and gratitude. Inka's works have been shown in 56 exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland and Italy, as well as in the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and at the ARTBOX Project Miami 3.0. At KUNST:OFFEN 2024, Inka is participating in the collective exhibition at St. Spiritus in Greifswald, as well as at the Bergen City Museum. Inka's studio is also open all year round for interested parties by appointment. Please send your request to info@galerie-inka.de
