Störtal Museum Banzkow
Mecklenburg country life - this is presented in many different ways in the Störtal Museum Banzkow with its traditions developed over centuries.
It is located in the basement of the Trend Hotel Banzkow. The Störtal Museum was opened on June 5, 2000 on the occasion of Banzkow's 700th anniversary and is affiliated with the socio-cultural center "Störtal e.V. Banzkow". The museum is run by the association's very active museum group. The Störtal Museum takes you on a journey into the past over 300 square meters. Under the motto "Living, working and life in the countryside", Banzkow and life in the surrounding area is presented in an exciting and varied way. There are not only exhibits from Banzkow, the Lewitz and the surrounding area, but also from other regions. The museum also houses a "corner store with pub", named after the Banzkow merchant Max Block (1898-1954). It is run by the Trend Hotel and invites guests to celebrate with family and friends. Since summer 2009, the diorama model "Banzkow around 1900" has aroused the special interest of visitors. Opening hours Sunday 14.00 - 17.00 hrs. Admission is free, but the association is grateful for any donation. There is the possibility of an unscheduled visit at the hotel (Tel. 03861 71 14). The Störtal Museum Banzkow takes visitors on a lively journey into Mecklenburg's past. Everyday life in Banzkow and the surrounding region is vividly presented on around 300 square meters under the motto "Living, working and life in the countryside". The museum is located in the basement of the Trend Hotel Banzkow and was opened on the occasion of Banzkow's 700th anniversary in 2000.
Exhibits from Banzkow, the Lewitz and the whole of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
In addition to objects from Banzkow itself, the museum displays exhibits from Lewitz and other regions of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern - a federal state that is also known for its impressive coastal towns such as Rostock, Wismar, Stralsund and Greifswald. A particular highlight is the diorama model "Banzkow around 1900", which has been attracting the interest of many visitors since 2009. A faithfully designed corner store with a pub, named after the Banzkow merchant Max Block, also invites visitors to small celebrations.
Free admission and guided tours of the Störtal Museum
Admission to the Störtal Museum Banzkow is free. The museum is run on a voluntary basis by the museum group of the socio-cultural association Störtal e.V. Banzkow. In addition to regular opening hours, unscheduled visits and special guided tours for school classes, clubs and groups are possible - a great addition to a trip along the Mecklenburg Baltic coast.
