Altwarper Hafen is the northeasternmost port in the Federal Republic of Germany and is the border port to neighboring Poland.

On the left-hand side, the port is used by the fishing cooperative. The fishing village of Altwarp is located directly on the coast between the Szczecin Lagoon and Lake Warp and is home to Germany's easternmost port. From the harbor, you have a good view of the Polish neighbor Neuwarp, which can be visited by passenger ship. The idyllic village is surrounded by breathtaking nature and vastness. Juniper heaths, pine forests, oak and alder woods and the famous shifting sand dunes make the nature park one of the most beautiful landscapes on the Szczecin Lagoon. Enjoy the maritime flair with the old fishermen's houses, visit the Dutch windmill, which was still in operation until 1950, or relax in absolute tranquillity on the small natural beach. Fish is a big part of the gastronomic offer here. It is served fresh every day in the restaurants and pubs. The inland dunes on the edge of the village are also worth a visit and invite you to linger.

The port of Altwarp in the small fishing village of Altwarp is the northeasternmost port in the Federal Republic of Germany and also a border port with neighboring Poland. Located directly on the coast between the Szczecin Lagoon and Lake Warp, it combines maritime tradition with a unique border location. The left side of the harbor is used by the local fishing cooperative - a living testimony to the centuries-old fishing tradition compared to other coastal towns in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern such as Greifswald or Stralsund.

View to Poland and excursion to Neuwarp

From the port of Altwarp, you have a clear view of the neighboring Polish town of Neuwarp, which can be easily visited by passenger ship. This special proximity to the border makes Altwarp an unusual destination in the nature park on the Szczecin Lagoon. Surrounded by juniper heaths, pine forests, oak and alder woods and the famous shifting sand dunes, the region offers one of the most scenic corners of the German Baltic Sea coast - far away from the hustle and bustle of better-known destinations such as Usedom or Rügen.
