Welcome to the Vikings in the Valley of the Beavers, says the canoe and raft rental company in Menzlin near Anklam. Menzlin is a prehistoric maritime trading center of the Vikings, who left graves in Menzlin. These can be discovered during the guided tour of the former Viking trading site. A 3.5-kilometre-long nature trail also starts at the canoe station, along which there are three five-metre-high observation towers. From there, guests can enjoy an impressive view of the renaturation areas next to the Peene. The former pasture and meadow areas have been flooded so that the former moorland can develop again.
