Old Water Tower Observation Deck

The round brick building is now a technical monument and observation deck. The old water tower in Lübz is a striking structure and an important testament to the town’s industrial history. It was built in 1913 and stands 37 meters tall. It originally served to supply water to the town. In 2006, the tower was converted into an observation tower. A newly installed spiral staircase makes the tower easily accessible. A special highlight is the panoramic view from an additional level built into the former water storage tank, which offers visitors an impressive view of Lübz and the surrounding area. Planetarium Lübz

Since 1980, the town of Lübz has had a planetarium, which is open not only to schools in the region, but also to holidaymakers and anyone else who is interested. No matter what the weather is like: thanks to projection technology from Carl Zeiss Jena, you can observe the day and night sky and follow the position of the sun, moon and planets. Around 5000 stars can be projected onto the planetarium dome, which has a diameter of eight meters. The Lübz town library offers its users around 15,000 media in the form of books, magazines, audio books, DVDs, CDs, games, Tonies and TipToi media. ZZK - Center for Circular Art

Located in the heart of Lübz, the ZZK offers affordable space for offices and workshops, featuring 10 studios, an artist-run gallery, a large courtyard, and a coach house. The purpose of this space is to bring together different sectors—whether individuals, startups, or small businesses—who want to shape the future together in a sustainable and resource-efficient way. The Center for Circular Art is not just a place for artists themselves. Rather, it embraces the concept of sustainability, according to which we all want to use the resources at our disposal more consciously, reuse what already exists, upgrade it, and make it available for further use. “No excuse for single use” applies not only to upcycling art and the circular economy, but also to numerous historic buildings within Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, such as the ZZK Lübz. As part of the region’s clay and brick architectural heritage, the building has been renovated in recent years using traditional and sustainable construction methods and now offers space for creative ideas. Located in the heart of the city of Lübz, the ZZK offers affordable space for offices and workshops with 10 studios, a producer gallery, a large courtyard, and a coach house. The purpose of this place is to bring together various sectors—whether individuals, startups, or small businesses—who want to shape the future together in a sustainable and resource-efficient way. In the building next door, accommodations are currently being developed and will invite visitors to stay longer in the historic downtown area in the future. Idyllic bike and hiking trails provide quick access to nature, where you’ll find not only peace and relaxation but also plenty of inspiration!
