The summer house of the poet and Nobel Prize winner Gerhart Hauptmann in Kloster.
The originally preserved summer house of the poet and Nobel Prize winner Gerhart Hauptmann takes visitors back to the 1920s and 1930s. You can visit the originally furnished living and working rooms, part of his art collection, the wine cellar and the cultural history exhibition "Literary Modernism on Hiddensee." The summer house and the literature pavilion are open daily during the summer months. There is a well-stocked bookshop in the literature pavilion, which also sells Hauptmann's favorite wine. Readings and concerts are held regularly.
