Behind “The Humming Trees” are violinist Ingeborg Freytag and guitarist and singer Jörg Schneider. Without trees, there is no wood; without wood, there are no instruments; without instruments, there is no sound. The Humming Trees’ roots run deep into the heart of American folk and blues music. So the duo not only plays their own songs but also pays deep homage to some of the key figures of Mississippi Delta blues. Among them are Robert Johnson, Charley Patton, and Skip James. Completely acoustic, stripped down to vocals, guitar, and violin. With minimal technical setup. So that you can hear the trees humming along when the Humming Trees start to play.
