The log cabin in Eichhof-Vorpommern near Wilhelmsburg is one of the last remaining monuments of its kind in the region. People lived here for around 250 years, farming on the large Friedländer Wiese meadow. The log construction method was widespread in Central Europe until the 20th century - the primeval forests that still existed in this region of Western Pomerania at the beginning of the 18th century once made the wood-intensive construction possible. Between 1997 and 2000, the building was restored in line with its listed status and is now accessible as an architectural monument.

The Förderkreis Blockhaus in Eichhof e.V. has developed the house into an exhibition and event venue. Since summer 2011, there has been a museum café serving freshly baked cakes. The log cabin is located directly on the main road and on the Haff-Tollensesee cycle path, which connects Neubrandenburg with Ueckermünde over 80 kilometers - a beautiful starting point for cycling tours through Western Pomerania, not far from the Baltic Sea coast between Usedom and the Szczecin Lagoon.

The nearest train station is Ferdinandshof, around 3.5 km away. By car, the Ravensmühle rest area on the highway is a good point of orientation, around 13.5 km away. By bus, the nearest stop is the bus station, approx. 4.2 km away. It is around 17 km from Ueckermünde town harbor, which can also be reached by ferry.
