The world of legends in the Lewitz is teeming with dragons, mythical creatures and all kinds of secrets from the history of Germany's largest meadow landscape. There are a total of 16 stations along the trail, each of which has a legend as its theme. Artists have created statues for each station, and the legend can be read on boards or accessed as an audio play via QR code. There are discovery tasks for children and information about the forest and nature is provided in a fun way. The trail starts and ends at the Friedrichsmoor hunting lodge and is suitable for hikers and cyclists. Legends usually have a true core and lead back to the time when the Lewitz was settled by Slavs or to the time of the Napoleonic Wars. On the "Legendary Lewitz" forest adventure trail (12 km cycle path or 4 km hiking trail), visitors can get to know the legends of the landscape. At 16 stations, visitors can get to the bottom of the myths with adventure and discovery stations. Knowledge about nature is also imparted in a playful way. The Lewitz is the largest meadow landscape in Germany and has been the scene of sagas and legends for centuries: of white women in the misty fields, the nocturnal Wild Hunt and magnificent white stags in the oak forest. Many of these stories have a historical core and date back to the time of Slavic settlement or the Napoleonic Wars.

There are 16 stations along the trail, at which artists have erected specially designed statues. At each station, the associated legend can be read on a plaque or listened to as an audio play using a QR code. For children, there are discovery tasks that impart knowledge about the forest and nature in a fun way. The trail is available as a 4 km hiking trail and a 12 km cycle path - starting and finishing at the historic Friedrichsmoor hunting lodge.

The Lewitz is located in the heart of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and can be easily combined with a visit to the nearby Baltic Sea coast. Cities such as Wismar or Schwerin are within easy reach, and those with more time can also explore the coastal regions around Rostock, Fischland-Darß-Zingst or Stralsund. Friedrichsmoor is located south of Schwerin and is easily accessible via the A14 highway (Neustadt-Glewe exit). The nearest major train station is Neustadt-Glewe or Schwerin, from where the village can be reached by car or bicycle. Parking spaces are available at the Friedrichsmoor hunting lodge.
