Teterower Heidberge forest adventure area
Teterower Heidberge forest adventure area - experience nature in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Since September 2024, the Teterower Heidberge forest adventure area has enriched the natural landscape around Teterow. In the middle of a hilly landscape formed by the Ice Age, a diverse mix of deciduous and coniferous trees grows, interspersed with fens and alder swamp forests. The area is located in the heart of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, not far from the Baltic Sea coast and well-known destinations such as Rostock and Mecklenburg Switzerland.
Forest adventure trail "Forest of Talents" - stations for young and old
The forest adventure trail is divided into two sections: The main "Forest of Talents" trail leads along 1.6 km to a total of 9 stations. The supplementary Philosopher's Path leads to a further 5 stations over just under 1 km. Both routes are dedicated to topics such as natural phenomena, climate change, natural pharmacy and native animal and plant species. A separate adventure station provides insights into the moor.
Forest education and memorial in the Teterow Heath Mountains
The Dargun Forestry Office offers free forest education programs for school classes and children's groups. Anyone exploring the Heidberge should also visit the memorial - a monument to the victims of the First World War. From its platform, the view extends far over the treetops into the landscape of Mecklenburg Switzerland.
