Surfspot Wiek
Surf spot Wiek on the Baltic Sea - the wind mecca on Rügen
The Wiek surf spot on the Baltic Sea is located in the north of the island of Rügen, directly on Wieker Bodden, and is considered one of the windiest spots in the whole of Germany. Separated from the open Baltic Sea only by the narrow Bug peninsula, it offers ideal conditions for windsurfers and kiters of all levels. The spot is recommended for wind directions from southwest to north.
Shallow water and generous standing area at Wieker BoddenThe extensive standing area, which stretches around 450 meters into the water, is particularly attractive. Thanks to the sheltered location on the Bodden, the water surface is often smooth and is therefore also suitable as a speed slope. Two separate entry areas for kiters and windsurfers are only around 150 meters apart and are easily accessible. There are rocks in the water in some places - if you are unsure, you should ask experienced locals in advance.
Wind and kite schools and equipment directly on site
Windsurfing and kitesurfing schools are located directly at the Wiek surf spot on Rügen, offering courses for all levels as well as SUP courses and equipment rental. Parking facilities, toilets and a waste disposal station are also available, so nothing stands in the way of a relaxing day on the water.
