Surfspot Ueckermünde (Szczecin Lagoon)
Surf spot Ueckermünde on the Szczecin Lagoon - flat water insider tip in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
The surf spot Ueckermünde on the Szczecin Lagoon is still largely unknown in the surfing scene - and that's exactly what makes it so special. The small harbor town of Ueckermünde is located on the southern shore of the Szczecin Lagoon in the easternmost tip of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, not far from the Polish border. The spot boasts a wide standing area and shallow water, which makes it particularly interesting for beginners and advanced surfers. Optimal conditions prevail with wind directions from northwest to southeast.
Family-friendly infrastructure right on the beachThe extensively renovated seaside resort of Ueckermünde is the youngest seaside resort in Germany and boasts an excellent infrastructure. Parking spaces are available directly at the main entrance - from there it is only a few meters to the water. Those arriving with a camper van or motorhome can even spend the night in the parking lot near the beach. Toilets, showers and waste disposal facilities are available on site, as well as a restaurant and several snack bars.
Surfing ban in summer - alternative spot Bellin nearbyBetween May 15 and September 15, surfing is unfortunately prohibited at the Ueckermünde surf spot. An alternative is the "Zimmerplatz" beach in Bellin, around three kilometers away, which is surfable under similar conditions.
