Rundbus Plauer See stop 10: Monkey forest and Malchow summer toboggan run
Stop 10 on the Lake Plau circular bus takes day trippers directly to one of the most popular family destinations in the Baltic Sea region of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: the monkey forest and summer toboggan run near Malchow. Those who leave the coast or well-known destinations such as Rostock and Stralsund behind for a day will find a varied adventure for young and old here in the heart of the Mecklenburg Lake District.
Malchow summer toboggan run: 800 meters of fun with seven steep bends
From April to October, the 800-metre-long summer toboggan run invites you to race. Seven steep bends, six chicanes and a height difference of 30 meters ensure plenty of fun. A drag lift takes tobogganists comfortably back to the top so that the descent can be enjoyed several times.
Berber monkeys on 3.5 hectares of natural enclosure near MalchowThe monkey forest is right next door: large families of Barbary macaques live in a 3.5-hectare natural enclosure, which visitors can observe at close range - and curiously observe themselves. The animals are extremely trusting, which is why glasses and other small items should be held tightly. Refreshments are also provided so that you can get back on the round bus refreshed.
