In carefully renovated historical rooms of the former monastery, works of art are presented that are unique and make the history of the region tangible in an impressive way.

Works by important Mecklenburg artists in the former refectory

In the wing of the former refectory, the works of several important artists with a regional connection take center stage. On display are works by Rudolf Gahlbeck (1895-1972) and Friedrich-Franz Pingel (1904-1994), both born in Malchow, as well as works by Sieghard Dittner (1924-2002), who lived in Malchow for many years, and Peter Hesse (1921-2008). Particularly noteworthy is Rudolf Gahlbeck's study, which has been faithfully preserved and provides a rare insight into the artist's work.
