Church building with an eventful history - foundation stone in 1928
With the influx of Catholics after the First World War, the parish grew steadily. In 1928, the foundation stone was laid for the current church building, which was consecrated just one year later. It is noteworthy that Polish reapers were heavily involved in the construction - an example of the close ties between the people of the region at the time.
Copper portals with biblical motifs by Peter BalehnaThe three entrance portals to the church are a special work of art. They were designed by Waren artist Peter Balehna in 1979. The door panels, covered with embossed sheet copper, show impressive motifs from the Bible and give the entrance to the Holy Cross Church an unmistakable, high-quality handcrafted appearance.
