Port of Barhöft
Harbour Barhöft on the Baltic Sea - the only entrance to the Bodden waters
The port of Barhöft is located at one of the most prominent water points in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: it guards the only entrance to the Bodden waters of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst region and is located around eight nautical miles north of Stralsund. With a water depth of up to 5.7 meters, it also offers safe mooring facilities for larger sailing boats and motor yachts.
Historic pilot houses as witnesses to maritime historyAbove the harbor basin are the former pilot houses, which are a reminder of Barhöft's former economic importance as a pilotage location. In the 1990s, the harbour was thoroughly modernized and has since been well equipped with sanitary facilities, catering facilities and a barbecue area - a practical starting point for cruises along the Baltic Sea coast between Rügen and the Darß.
