Warnker See observation post
Warnker See observation point - nature experience on the Baltic coast
The observation point at Warnker See is one of the quiet natural highlights along the Baltic Sea coast in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Two observation towers - one in the north and one in the south of the lake - offer visitors a unique view of the species-rich wetland. Those who take the time to linger will be richly rewarded.
Cormorant colony, herons and rare red-crested pochards at Warnker See
Lake Warnk is a real paradise for water birds. Cormorants, grey herons and ducks have settled here in large numbers. The population of red-crested pochards is particularly remarkable: around 900 birds live here - a concentration of this size that is unique in the whole of northern Germany
Hiking at Warnker See - the bellflower hiking trail
The observation stands can be easily reached via the approximately 10-kilometre-long "Glockenblumen" hiking trail or on the way to Müritzhof. The hike through this varied landscape on the Baltic Sea coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is particularly worthwhile in the fall, when large flocks of crested ducks rest on the lake.
