Putbus train station

Putbus train station
Putbus railroad station is a railroad junction of local importance in the town of Putbus. The Bergen auf Rügen-Lauterbach Mole railroad line and the 750 mm gauge Altefähr-Göhren narrow-gauge railroad, of which only the Putbus-Göhren section is still in operation, cross at this junction. Putbus station was opened together with the Bergen-Putbus railroad line on August 15, 1889, which was extended to Lauterbach on May 15, 1890. The station building with attached goods shed for the standard-gauge railroad is located to the west of the tracks at the northern end of the station. In the 1990s, a three-rail track was built so that both standard-gauge and narrow-gauge trains can travel between Putbus and Lauterbach Mole. The station is no longer used by express trains. An exhibition on the narrow-gauge site commemorates the history of the Rügen narrow-gauge railroads. The reception building of the standard-gauge line and the narrow-gauge station with the dispatching building, old service building, engine shed and railcar shed are listed buildings.

This is where the Bergen auf Rügen-Lauterbach Mole railroad line and the 750 mm gauge narrow-gauge railroad, which still serves the Putbus-Göhren section today, intersect. The station was opened on August 15, 1889, together with the Bergen-Putbus line.

Listed ensemble and exhibition on the Rügen Little Railway

The reception building of the standard-gauge line and the narrow-gauge station with the dispatching building, old service building, engine shed and railcar shed are listed buildings. An exhibition on the narrow-gauge site brings the eventful history of the Rügen narrow-gauge railroads to life. A three-rail track built in the 1990s has since made it possible for both standard-gauge and narrow-gauge trains to run between Putbus and Lauterbach Mole.
