Loddiner Höft viewpoint - view over the Achterwasser on Usedom

The Loddiner Höft viewpoint is one of the most scenic spots in the Baltic Sea region of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. At the southern tip of the Höft, a wide panorama opens up over the Achterwasser, the inland water at the back of the island of Usedom. The view extends as far as the mainland opposite and the Lieper Winkel and Gnitz peninsulas.

Cliffs, sandy grassland and rare plants at Loddiner Höft

The hilly terrain slopes steeply down to the Achterwasser in the west and forms a striking cliff. Extensive sandy grasslands characterize the picture: silver grass meadows, grass carnations and carthusian pink-sheep's-fescue meadows cover large areas and make the Loddiner Höft a special place on Usedom from a botanical point of view.

Loddiner Höft is located in the heart of the island of Usedom, which together with the coast between Rügen and the Szczecin Lagoon characterizes the southern Baltic coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. From here, you can easily reach other natural highlights of the island, such as the Gnitz peninsula or the tranquil shores of the Achterwasser.
