Narrative church Sietow

The nave was completed in the 15th century, the belfry only in the 18th century. The Sietow church was built in the 15th century and the belfry was added later in the 18th century. The two parts of the church are separated by a triumphal arch and the original altar was replaced by a neo-Gothic carved altar. Since 2021, the church has been a venue for various events as a "storytelling church". The narrative church is a project of the Sietow parish and the Center for Church Services with support from the Tourism Fund. Coming to rest, being heard, being able to listen. This is what the storytelling church is all about, because our experiences, our lives, our world are collected in stories. They can open inner windows, they can touch hearts. They help us overcome the hurdles of everyday life. In the storytelling church, life stories, legends, fairy tales and legends are told alongside biblical stories. They are all worth listening to, because stories promote understanding of oneself and others. They stimulate the imagination and link values that never lose their validity. Let yourself be enchanted as you listen and/or listen to the stories. Widen your gaze, allow yourself the gift of silence and time, find your center, listen to yourself. Here is a church where you can feel God's closeness, where every age group has the opportunity to discover new approaches to His closeness.
