The museum offers special exhibitions and events on a variety of topics, as well as guided tours of the museum and guided tours of the town by appointment. Opening hours: Open all year round. The "Bechelsdorfer Schulzenhaus" is a special outdoor facility. The buildings of the open-air complex "Bechelsdorfer Schulzenhaus", with the only surviving pre-Reformation Kübbungsdielen barn in Mecklenburg, were built near Schönberg in Bechelsdorf around 1528. The monumental farm belongs to the type of Low German hall houses and shows the culture, living and working conditions of a farming family in the second half of the 19th century. It was moved to Schönberg in the 1960s and has formed the core of the open-air complex ever since. Various events such as the baking day in the museum (every first Saturday of the month) or dancing in the hallway attract visitors from near and far. The Schulzenhaus offers its premises for wedding ceremonies. Opening hours: May to October Tue - Thu and Sat from 10 am - 5 pm.

Bechelsdorfer Schulzenhaus - the oldest hall house in Mecklenburg

Only a few minutes away from the main house is the "Bechelsdorfer Schulzenhaus" open-air complex. The building was erected in Bechelsdorf around 1528 and belongs to the Low German hall house type. Particularly noteworthy is the only preserved pre-Reformation Kübbungsdielen barn in Mecklenburg. The ensemble was moved to Schönberg in the 1960s. It vividly conveys the living and working conditions of a farming family in the 19th century. Events such as the monthly baking day or "Tanz auf der Diele" attract visitors from all over the Baltic region - from Wismar to Stralsund. The Schulzenhaus is also available for civil weddings.
