Reez Manor

On the most beautiful cycling and hiking routes along the Warnow river, with its valleys, adjacent meadows and forests, you will reach the village of Reez, which was first mentioned in 1283 in a Rostock chamber register.

The manor house is a two-storey brick building commissioned by Friedrich von Flotow and built in 1825/30 over what are probably baroque cellars. Changes were made to the façade of the manor house around 1885. The estate ensemble with the manager's house, barn and other farm buildings was built around 1835/40. Large parts of the manor house have been preserved. It is privately owned by the Grieger family and is to be restored in the near future. The well-known equestrian facility 'Pferdeland Reez' is connected to the estate.

Reez Manor House - historic brick building on the Warnow

The Reez manor house is one of the most remarkable estates in the hinterland of the Mecklenburg Baltic coast. The two-storey brick building was commissioned by Friedrich von Flotow between 1825 and 1830 - presumably over older, baroque cellars. Around 1885, the façade of the manor house underwent further changes that helped shape its current character.

Reez - a historic village in the Warnow Valley near Rostock

The village of Reez was first mentioned in a document in 1283 in Rostock's Chamber Register and can therefore look back on over 700 years of history. Its location in the Warnow valley, embedded in meadows, forests and characteristic through valleys, makes Reez an attractive destination for cycling and hiking tours in the inland of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern - not far from the Hanseatic city of Rostock and the Baltic Sea coast.
