Village church Raduhn - neo-Gothic with historical roots

The village church in Raduhn is one of the quiet but impressive witnesses to the history of church architecture in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Situated on the highest point of the former cemetery on the outskirts of Raduhn, it was consecrated in its current form in 1859. The special feature: During construction, old masonry from the previous building was deliberately integrated, which is still visible today between the characteristic red bricks - a rare blend of old and new.

Stepped gable, bell tower and historic organ in Raduhn

Architecturally, the striking stepped gables and the small bell tower are particularly eye-catching - typical neo-Gothic style elements, similar to those found in church buildings in Wismar or Stralsund. Inside the church, the organ from 1850 is another highlight: it comes from the workshop of organ builder Johann Heinrich Runge. The church was extensively renovated in the 1960s; the room under the organ loft has served as a winter church since 1964.
