The Mellenthin Church is one of the most remarkable medieval religious buildings on the Baltic Sea island of Usedom in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The fieldstone structure was built in 1319, initially as a simple chapel. Starting in 1338, it was expanded with brick, which gave the building its current basic character. The striking tower was added in a later phase of construction and has defined the townscape of Mellenthin ever since.
