Born in Flensburg, Elsenhans began her creative career with an apprenticeship as a gold and silversmith, followed by studies in fine art painting in Kiel. She gained international exposure during her study abroad stints, including a period in New York with the renowned artist James Collins, which provided her with a global network and diverse sources of inspiration. After a one-year detour into acting at the Freiburg Drama School, Elsenhans continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Trier, where she honed her artistic skills under professors such as Krämer, Ruth Clemens, Klaus, and Philipp Schulte. At the same time, she gained recognition as an author at Christophorus Verlag in Freiburg. Elsenhans has been working as a freelancer since 1984 and has made a name for herself not only as a painter but also as a designer of exclusive jewelry and silk fashion. Her work thus spans a broad spectrum, ranging from painting and jewelry design to the production of unique silk textiles. Another milestone in her career was her many years of teaching at the Waldkirch Adult Education Center, where she taught watercolor and silk painting. As a member of the F.K.F. (Freiburger Künstlerfreunde), Elsenhans was also actively involved in the regional art scene. Today, Elsenhans lives and works in Kronsberg on the southern Bodden coast.
