The heart of the museum, however, is the book printing museum with workshop on the ground floor of the building, run by printer and museum director Hans-Hilmar Koch. The book printing museum preserves the important cultural achievement of BOOK PRINTING in the form of a reconstructed book printing works from the beginning of the 20th century. The extraordinary thing about the only museum of its kind in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is that printed matter is still produced using this process. A large part of the old printing technology comes from the former Bontemps printing works in Krakow.

The heart of the old school is the letterpress printing museum with an adjoining workshop on the first floor. Under the direction of printer and museum director Hans-Hilmar Koch, the technique of letterpress printing is not only exhibited, but actively practiced - printed matter is still produced here today using the historical process. Much of the original printing technology comes from the former Bontemps printing works in Krakow. This museum is the only one of its kind in the whole of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, making it a unique cultural feature that sets it apart from well-known excursion destinations such as Rostock, Wismar or Stralsund.
