Gallery on the hill in Kloster - experience art on Hiddensee

The Galerie am Hügel in Kloster is a cultural venue on the island of Hiddensee, which is part of the Baltic Sea region of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Every summer, changing exhibitions are held here, offering visitors a special insight into the visual arts. The tranquil, natural atmosphere of the island - known as the car-free counterpart to the neighboring island of Rügen - creates an atmospheric setting for the artistic offerings.

In summer, the studio at Galerie am Hügel offers practical art courses for children and adults. The "Painting with children" course creates large-format watercolors - it takes place on Wednesdays in July, August and October. The course costs €20 per child and €30 per adult. On Thursdays, participants can learn the technique of drypoint etching in the "Printing with children" course. The price here is €30 per child and €40 per adult. Both courses are aimed equally at families and individuals interested in art.

Hiddensee can only be reached by ferry. There are ferry connections from Stralsund and from the Rügen towns of Schaprode and Breege. The nearest train station is in Stralsund, which is easily accessible by car via the A20 (Stralsund exit). There are regular ferries from Stralsund directly to Kloster on Hiddensee.
