Klein Belitz village smithy

The village smithy in Klein Belitz has existed since 1822.

Village smithy Klein Belitz - blacksmithing since 1822

The Klein Belitz village smithy is one of the oldest surviving smithies in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The historic building has stood in the small village of Klein Belitz since 1822 and tells of a tradition of craftsmanship that has shaped rural life in the region for generations.

Metalworking in a historic forge

Today, metal designer Reinhard Sentner has taken over the Klein Belitz village smithy and is breathing new life into it. Two functioning forging machines are still in place and bear witness to the fact that real craftsmanship is practised here - not a museum, but an active workplace where metal is shaped according to old traditions.

Excursion destination in the heart of Mecklenburg

Klein Belitz is located in inland Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and can be easily combined with a trip to the surrounding region.
