In addition to two family centers and a daycare center with a forest group, a lively village community is run at the Hohenwieden site, which forms the heart of the work. Here, people with and without disabilities live and work together in an inclusive environment. The Greifswald Gate in Grimmen was built around 1350 and is one of three gates that still exist in Grimmen. Built between 1350 and 1400, the Greifswald Gate was part of the town's medieval defenses. It was severely damaged by a lightning strike around 1800. Somewhat smaller and less ornate, the late Gothic brick building was rebuilt due to a lack of funds. The Greifswald Gate was extensively renovated in 1980.
