Early Works—Early Artists: The R.

Konzack Collection. This exhibition aims to document the development of the collection from 1989 to approximately 2005. The core of the collection consists of the first works that Reinhard Conny Konzack acquired between 1989 and approximately 2005. Initially, these were mostly occasional purchases from artist friends. Later, additional works by both national and international artists were added through purchases at galleries and art fairs. The first artists were Dirk Sommer, Peter Buechler, and Jürgen Zumbrunnen. This was followed by acquisitions from the artist couple Lilli Engel and Raffael Rheinsberg, the Potsdam artists Reiner Fürstenberg and Stephan Velten, as well as the Berlin artists Matthias Deumlich, Manfred Dörner, Roman Lipski, Angelika Margull, Gabriele Oelschläger, and the sculptor Paul Pfarr, among others. Hours: Apr.–Oct.: First Sunday of the month, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. and 3–5 p.m.

Klützer Winkel Art Gallery in the village of Gutow – A Private Collection with a Rich History

The Klützer Winkel Art Gallery in the village of Gutow preserves and displays an extraordinary art collection that collector Reinhard Conny Konzack built up between 1989 and around 2005. The exhibition “Early Works – Early Artists” documents the history of this collection’s origins and offers a rare glimpse into the personal development of a private art collection in reunified Germany.

From Purchases from Friends to an International Collection

It all began with occasional purchases from artist friends such as Dirk Sommer, Peter Buechler, and Jürgen Zumbrunnen. Over the years, the collection grew significantly through purchases at galleries and art fairs. Added to this were works by the artist couple Lilli Engel and Raffael Rheinsberg, as well as by the Potsdam artists Reiner Fürstenberg and Stephan Velten. Artists from Berlin, such as Matthias Deumlich, Manfred Dörner, Roman Lipski, Angelika Margull, Gabriele Oelschläger, and the sculptor Paul Pfarr, are also represented with works.

Art in the Klützer Winkel—A Destination on the Baltic Sea

The Klützer Winkel is located in the northwest of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, not far from the Hanseatic city of Wismar and the Baltic Sea coast. The region is known for its tranquil landscape of fields, manor houses, and Baltic Sea beaches. As a cultural hub, the Kunsthalle fits perfectly into a weekend that combines nature and art—perhaps paired with a visit to Wismar or a stroll along the coast of the Klützer Winkel.
