PUPPET THEATER: A PIECE OF CAKE

Come on in.

From May through September. “We” are the Fingerleichten Puppen—puppets, characters, and objects—and our director, puppeteer Katharina Fial. THE TROUPE. Well, we Fingerleichten Puppen have traveled quite a long way—and we’re still on the move. Over hill and dale, through the air, and across rivers. On the road and in the realm of imagination, we find plays and stories. We then perform them from May through September on the Ole Pfarrhof summer stage. In addition, before, and after those performances, we also perform elsewhere—in Feldberg and Thomsdorf, in Berlin, and around the world. THE REPERTOIRE. At the Ole Pfarrhof, under the ancient linden tree, Ronia the Robber’s Daughter experiences adventures in the Robber’s Forest. Here, The Little Prince finds his best friend, the fox. Sometimes the fisherman catches a magic fish for his wife that grants every wish. Or Puss in Boots leads everyone by the nose. Our ever-changing repertoire includes classics of world theater and children’s literature, as well as contemporary works. And because the Ole Pfarrhof is located in beautiful Carwitz, there’s always a Fallada play on the program. All plays are suitable for people of all ages, starting at three years old. THE VENUE. Our puppet theater seats up to 80 people. A roof provides shelter from the sun and rain. One of the two entrances is wheelchair accessible. The Ole Pfarrhof is located right in the heart of Carwitz. Just eleven steps from the bus stop. It’s only a few more steps from the campground, the snack bar, the cafes, and the Fallada Museum. Bicycle parking is available right in front of the stage entrance. THE AUDIENCE GALLERY. Our audience gallery is also growing right in front of the entrance. We display what children and adults have invented, painted, and written in our Fingerleichten Theater Labs. These Theater Labs take place once a week following a performance. The schedule and dates are available on our website. Oooh, we almost forgot: Our Fingerleichter Summer Theater Venue is called Ole Pfarrhof because the Carwitz parsonage once stood here. That’s a wondrous story in itself—one we’ll tell you about someday.

The Fingerleicht Puppet Theater in Carwitz performs from May through September on the Ole Pfarrhof summer stage—a magical spot right in the middle of the village, under an ancient linden tree. Puppeteer Katharina Fial and her “Fingerleicht” puppets, characters, and props present performances here for people of all ages, starting at three years old. The puppet theater is located in the heart of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, in the midst of the Feldberg Lake District—far from the hustle and bustle of the Baltic Sea coast, but easily combined with a trip to the Mecklenburg Lake District.
