Karola Kruse | Bodstedt Pottery

My pottery studio is located in a picturesque setting across from the church, right on the Bodstedter Bodden.

Discovering a Love for Pottery Through various courses I’ve taken throughout Germany since 1998, I’ve discovered my passion for clay.  Courses take place in the summer in the beautifully landscaped garden under the pavilion and in the winter in the warm studio. In my studio, you can get creative under my guidance, create special memories, and relax. Here, both beginners and advanced students can try their hand at pottery in two courses or, in a single course, design tableware from my inventory using color, stencils, or freehand techniques. Courses are available as one-time sessions, on a regular basis, or individually by arrangement. I’m also happy to take on commissioned work and, if needed (at your expense), ship the finished pieces to your home.

The pottery studio offers two different course options: Either you make pottery yourself under expert guidance, or you design tableware from the available pieces—using stencils, paint, or freehand. Both options are suitable for beginners and advanced students alike. In the summer, the courses take place in the lovingly designed garden under a pavilion; in the winter, they are held in the warm workshop. The courses can be booked as one-time sessions, on a regular basis, or individually by arrangement. Finished commissioned pieces can also be shipped to your home if needed.

Pottery as a Vacation Experience on the Mecklenburg Baltic Sea Coast

Your cab for Zingst, Barth and the surrounding area. You know the destination. We know the way. A family business on the road to success Horst Oelke, born in 1943, took the plunge into self-employment on May 1, 1990 and founded his own cab company in Zingst together with several other new cab entrepreneurs. His beginnings were modest: A black and brown Lada 1500 and a portable telephone, the size of a small suitcase, formed the basis. Although he was originally a blacksmith, Horst proved to be a natural driver. With his experience at Kraftverkehr Ribnitz-Damgarten and his work as a bus and car driver at the former VEG Zingst, he was very familiar with the roads and paths in the region. He received active support from his wife Ulla, who took care of the bookkeeping with great skill and of course - the bureaucratic tasks would have simply overwhelmed the new entrepreneur. His children Andrea and Jan also obtained their passenger transport licenses and gradually joined the family business. Over the years, the fleet changed, but Horst Oelke's calm, reliable manner built up a stable network of hotels, guesthouses, doctors and locals, creating the foundations for a solid, family-run business. We are your cab for Zingst, Barth and the surrounding area. Up high or down low - no distance is too far for us. Smoked and fresh fish, fish sandwiches Fischerei Bauer is a popular address in Bodstedt, known for its fresh fish and fish sandwiches. You can't miss the fishery opposite Botstedt harbor. Fischer Bauer himself no longer goes out fishing, so today the stretched nets are evidence of past working tools at the fishing yard. Nevertheless, it is impressive how large and fine the fish traps are. Every Friday, fish is served fresh from the smoke. Guests stock up and enjoy taking eel, smoked salmon, halibut or mackerel fillets home with them as a tasty vacation souvenir. Crisp, fresh and tasty fish sandwiches are often eaten here with matjes, Bismarck herring or fried fish. It's a pleasure to enjoy it straight from your hand with a view of the hustle and bustle in the harbor and on the Bodden. Ahoy at Fisch-Bauer at Bodstedt harbor.
