Bird diversity and hiking in the Schaalsee biosphere reserve

Our accommodation is located in the heart of the small town of Zarrentin directly on the Schaalsee. The landscape, shaped by the Ice Age, is extremely varied and provides a habitat for a rich variety of flora and fauna. As it was located in the restricted area of the inner-German border until 1989 and has been under UNESCO protection since 2000, the landscape, fauna and flora have been largely spared negative influences.
