Timmendorf beach
Timmendorf bathing beach - maritime flair on the island of Poel
The Timmendorf bathing beach is located on the west coast of the island of Poel in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, right next to the harbor and in front of the lighthouse campsite. What makes this beach special: the over 140-year-old lighthouse, which still guides ships to Wismar, and the harbor at its foot give Timmendorf an unmistakable maritime flair.
Water sports and bathing fun on 700 meters of sandy beach
At around 700 meters, the Timmendorf beach offers a wide range of activities for young and young-at-heart during the bathing season. Pedal boating, water skiing, kitesurfing and surfing make the beach one of the liveliest places on the island. In the high season, lifeguards ensure the safety of bathers, and beach chair rental companies also offer baskets for the entire stay. Restaurants with sun terraces invite you to linger - the sunsets over the Baltic Sea in particular are an unforgettable natural spectacle. A walk along the piers, where you can watch ships coming in, rounds off a visit to the beach. The DLRG/Nivea beach festival and the day of the sea rescuers also take place every year.
