Gollwitz beach
Gollwitz bathing beach - a quiet insider tip on the Baltic Sea
The Gollwitz bathing beach is one of the lesser-known but particularly attractive beaches on the Baltic Sea coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of larger seaside resorts such as Wismar or the popular beaches of Fischland-Darß-Zingst, Gollwitz is a quiet beach close to nature with shallow water. The water remains shallow until the sandbank around 100 meters away - ideal for families with small children.
Bird watching and playground right on the beachA particular highlight is the close proximity to the bird sanctuary island of Langenwerder. Rare bird species can be observed from the beach chair - a rare experience that nature lovers will appreciate. Children will love the beached pirate ship playground and the volleyball net. A small kiosk and sanitary facilities provide the necessary comfort on site. As the water in front of the beach is very shallow, there is no lifeguard.
How to get to the Gollwitz beachThe best way to reach Gollwitz by car is via the Kritzow freeway exit, which is around 15 kilometers away. The nearest train station is in Teschow, around 11 kilometers from the beach. If you want to take the ferry, you can travel from Rerik - the ferry connection is around 13 kilometers away.
