Bathing beach Am Schwarzen Busch
Bathing beach Am Schwarzen Busch - the oldest bathing resort on the island of Poel
Bathing at Schwarzer Busch on the Baltic coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has a long tradition on the island of Poel. The first spa guests discovered the beach, which is just 1.3 kilometers from Kirchdorf, back in the 1920s. The lovingly restored Kurhaus right on the beach is still a reminder of these early days. With fine washed-up sand, groynes and lifeguards on duty in high season, the Am Schwarzen Busch beach has become the most popular beach on the island.
Red-roofed vacation homes and promenade right on the beach
A charming settlement of thatched vacation homes, which has been growing since the 1950s and many of which are now rented out to holidaymakers, is located directly on the dune. A new beach promenade with restaurants, children's play equipment and a mini-golf course completes the offer. Whatever the weather, you can enjoy an unobstructed view of the passing ferries heading towards Scandinavia - a feeling that makes even landlubbers yearn for faraway places.
