Old boats - Törns & Meehr
Traditional Lüttfischer boats sail on the Bodden near Ahrenshoop
In the Baltic seaside resort of Ahrenshoop / Althagen, in the heart of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Alte Boote - Törns & Meehr offers the opportunity to sail or row on the Bodden in traditional wooden Lüttfischer boats from April to November. The dinghies are from 5.70 m in length with brown perforated spritsails and jib rigged. Even inexperienced sailors can join in - an experienced guide is available on board on request.
Classical wooden boat building and restorations based on historical modelsIn addition to boat rental and cruise offers, the range of services includes classic boat building and extensive restoration work. Repairs, plank replacements, calfing, painting and boat transportation are just as much a part of this as the construction of new Fischländer sailing and Peikschlitten boats based on historical models. The service is based on many years of experience and close partnerships with the Darß Museum in Prerow, the Rostock Maritime Museum and the Stralsund Maritime Museum - objects have already been restored for all three institutions.
Maritime woodwork, furniture and regional gable signs from AlthagenFormer boat parts are used to create individual pieces of furniture for indoors and outdoors, including round garden benches made from grown krummholz. The range is complemented by the production of masts, oars and other boat accessories as well as regional gable signs and maritime decorations for sale or hire.
