The lighthouse welcomes boaters as they enter the Müritz-Elde waterway from Lake Plau. From its viewing platform at a height of 8 meters, it offers a fantastic panoramic view of Lake Plau. It is now the most popular photo motif among guests. In 2012, a new highlight in Plau am See was completed and opened to the public - the new pier with the lighthouse. This has already become a real visitor magnet in the climatic health resort. At weekends in particular, many guests and locals take advantage of the fine weather to enjoy the view of Lake Plau and the surrounding area from the platform. With a total height of 13.5 meters, the lighthouse now welcomes all guests arriving from the water as they enter Plau am See. Visitors can climb the tower from land and enjoy a fascinating panoramic view of Lake Plau, the Müritz-Elde waterway and Plau am See from the viewing platform at a height of 8 meters. The tower is open daily from April to October. From November to March, the tower is open every Friday to Sunday and by prior arrangement. Special opening hours for groups can be arranged by prior arrangement with the Tourist Info Plau am See. For safety reasons, please note that the tower remains closed during storms, thunderstorms, ice and snow. Entering the tower and the pier is at your own risk. Parents are liable for their children. The area around the lighthouse is home to a harbor, a snack bar and vacation apartments. The Metow connects Lake Plau with the old town of Plau am See and offers guests a maritime flair while strolling and lingering.

Ackerbürgerhaus Plau am See

📍 Plau am See

Ackerbürgerhaus Plau am See It is the last ensemble in the climatic health resort of Plau am See to be listed as a historical monument and to retain its functionality - consisting of the main house and outbuilding, stable and storage building. The farmhouse was rebuilt from salvaged materials on top of the existing cellar building after the last major town fire in 1756. Not one beam of the timber frame is the same as another and shows traces of repeated use. In addition to trade and commerce, the townspeople needed land and livestock to live, so they were farmers. The driveway, the courtyard with its cobblestones, well, manure cow, dry abortuaries and the stables with horse manger, pigsty and chicken droppings as well as the granaries have been preserved in their original condition. The façade of the main house was altered in 1929 when shop windows were installed in the basement. The apartments in the main and adjoining buildings were modernized in 1999. The listed building is being preserved by the owners themselves.
