Permanent and changing exhibitions bring this history to life for all visitors.

Colorful parlor
📍 Ahrenshoop
It has been a cultural meeting place for artists and art lovers for 100 years. Literature lovers can choose from a well-stocked collection, especially from the genre of regional literature. The Bunte Stube was founded in June 1922 by Martha Wegscheider and the painter Hans Brass. With its striking red and white design by Bauhaus architect Walter Butzek, the small store developed into an important building in Ahrenshoop in 1929. Today, books, handicrafts, jewelry, natural products and the art cabinet dominate the offer.
Künstlerhaus Lukas
📍 Ahrenshoop
The tradition-steeped Künstlerhaus Lukas is a place for artistic work and international encounters. It supports professional artists in the fields of visual arts, literature, dance, composition and curators by awarding residency scholarships. Künstlerhaus Lukas was built in 1894 by the painter Paul Müller-Kaempff, the founder of the Ahrenshoop artists' colony, as a boarding house and studio for his painting students and named after the patron saint of painters, St. Lucas. Today, the house is a workplace for artists from all over Germany and many countries in Northern Europe. They can devote themselves to their own works or initiate joint projects during scholarship-funded work stays. On the last Sunday of every month, the scholarship holders of the Künstlerhaus Lukas regularly host an open day. Studio talks, short readings and other events take place. The house also presents special events for some of the town's annual cultural highlights, such as the Ahrenshoop Literature Days or Ahrenshoop Film Nights.
