Ummanz information
📍 Waase
Welcome to Ummanz, the quiet sister of Rügen. As a point of contact for guests, visitors and locals, the Ummanz-Info offers all the important information from A for eel eating to S for surfing and Z for togetherness. Plan your varied days or book your accommodation. We look forward to seeing you!
One info - all info! In Waase, the first and largest town on the island of Ummanz, the Ummanz-Info is the first port of call for guests and locals. Here you will find the full program. Whether accommodation, excursions or insider tips - there is something for everyone here. The island promises relaxing tranquillity away from the tourist strongholds and scores with quiet corners and hidden treasures. A seemingly endless natural landscape - that's the best way to describe Rügen's little sister. There are no big hotels, promenades and highways here. Instead, there is vastness, silence and seclusion. As if in another time, fishermen land their fish in the early hours of the morning. In spring and fall, thousands of cranes rest here - a unique natural spectacle! In the evening, the sun sinks fiery red into the sea.
Only a bridge connects the island of Ummanz, which is surrounded by reeds and dykes, with Rügen. The adjacent Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park promises relaxation in almost untouched nature. The Ummanz information center has an exhibition on the national park for visitors. In addition to nature, arts and crafts also play a major role. Whether it's pottery, watercolor painting or jewelry making - there's sure to be something suitable for creative people of all ages. Active people will also get their money's worth. Walking on the dyke, paddling on the Bodden or a bike tour - the Ummanz-Info is the perfect starting point for exploring the Rügen island of Ummanz. Behind the Ummanz-Info is also the St. Marienkirche Waase, the only church on the island. What makes it so special? The Gothic carved altar from Antwerp from 1502, which was built for England and found its place on Ummanz.
