Timmendorf beach
📍 Timmendorf
Timmendorf-Strand is a good mix of attractive bathing fun for the young and the young at heart. There is a wide range of water sports on site.
On the west coast of Poel Island, right next to the harbor and in front of the lighthouse campsite, you will find Timmendorf beach with its distinct maritime flair. The old lighthouse, which is over 140 years old and still shows ships the way to Wismar, and the harbor at its foot make this beach so unique.
At around 700 meters, young and young-at-heart bathers in particular will find everything their hearts desire here. Numerous water sports facilities, such as pedal boating, water skiing, kitesurfing and surfing, transform Timmendorf beach into one of the liveliest places on the island of Poel during the bathing season. The beach, which is patrolled by lifeguards in the high season, is managed by beach chair rental companies, who will be happy to reserve a chair for you for your entire stay. Many restaurants with large sun terraces invite you to enjoy a wonderful natural spectacle every day in good weather. In Timmendorf you will experience sunsets that you will dream about long after your vacation is over. Afterwards, you can take a stroll along the jetties of the piers to watch incoming ships mooring and perhaps spin a few yarns. The DLRG/Nivea beach festival and the day of the sea rescuers take place here every year.
