Surfspot Zinnowitz
Surfspot Zinnowitz: waves instead of flat water on Usedom
The Zinnowitz surf spot is an address for anyone who wants to do more than just splash around in the Baltic Sea. With strong winds from the east - wind directions from NW to E are suitable - a decent wave builds up in front of the fine sandy beach of the well-known Baltic seaside resort. Flat water fanatics are clearly at the wrong address here. The spot is located at the Q landing, near the Hotel Baltic, and can be reached by following the promenade towards Trassenheide.
Kitesurfing and windsurfing in Zinnowitz - what you should know
Zinnowitz is one of the best-known Baltic seaside resorts on the island of Usedom in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and attracts many guests, especially in summer. In the high season, kitesurfing is therefore only recommended in the evening hours when the bathing area is less frequented. Beginners should bear in mind that the small standing area makes the spot challenging in stormy conditions. There is a surf school on site with a wide range of activities, from windsurfing and sailing to canoeing, water skiing and wakeboarding. Toilets and showers as well as parking facilities are also available.
Location of the surf spot: Between Achterwasser and Pomeranian BayZinnowitz is located on a narrow headland between the Achterwasser and the Pomeranian Bay - a geographically attractive situation that gives the town its special character. Anyone exploring the Baltic coast around Usedom will find other interesting surfing and water sports spots along the coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in addition to Zinnowitz, for example on Rügen or Fischland-Darß-Zingst.
